In the early 1970s I was fortunate enough to be asked by friends of mine if I would photograph them in the nude. It was near the beginning of my career and it turned out to be a gift. The work was published in numerous places and shown around the world.
Soon after we began photographing, she became pregnant with their first child, Seanée, which means Good News. We tried to get together during those 9 months of her pregnancy, but we were both busy with other projects. We finally were able to schedule some time in the studio a few weeks before she gave birth. (Good timing it turns out.) It is the first image in the series.
I continued to photograph them throughout the first year of the baby’s life. The selected images included here are from that body of work.
